DAH....wow, $600.....(wish I had that).....well, I might be able to buy a PS3 within the next year or two, once I get some more money steady. But I do agree that it is still expensive, that is why I am buying my new laptop first, then buying the PS3 cheaper in the coming years...Laptop for schooling is more important atm.

The difference is three things, as it always is with sony products.

1) the slim is obviously smaller and not as bulky
2) i garentee they will change something like HD size or youll be missing some random componant.
3) Coast will be less then the origional for now!

Either way, if you calculate how much it would cost to build that on your own your looking at about 230 USD for just the equipments. But since sony makes half the equipment and does not have to purchase it to use it to build the machine, its more like 100 USD for them to build each one. Then they turn around and try to force it on us to pay 600 USD. It is what we call Pure Profit Factor.

Think about it, it happens to you every day!. When you go to McDonalds and you pay 7.99 for the Big Mac w/ fries and a shake. That hamburger cost about $0.23 USD, the Shake is even cheaper being about $0.17 USD and the fries are the cheapest thing on the menu at a womping $.09 USD. All together all food businesses 95% of everything they sell is in the Pure Profit Factor. When you make a profit from your product that more then 5x what it cost to make it, it is considered the Pure Profit Factor.

Amazing isnt it?
