The biggest cryfest I have ever had with anime was the end of the first season of Clannad. My family and I have a very strained at best relationship due to the fact my dad is a baptist preacher and Im a lesbian..

Basically the theme was that a parents dream is lived out through the children and that hit to close to home.

appreciate your effort in trying to convince to watch clannad kazekage and whyt lindow buuuuuuut not gonna happen, ever!!!
i mean clanad is too mushy for me.. i mean come on - my top three animes are one piece, gintama and ouran koukou host club.. does that look like i would really enjoy clanad.. don't think so..

i do respect your tastes and all, not dissing you or anything, we all like different things and thats good.. so i know what i would like to watch and what not, i have my own taste, i have some anime that i hear are great but i would never ever watch them, not my taste.. its how it goes..
basically - no matter how many times you tell me to watch it, im never gonna do it ^^

oh and also - loveless? why? does it have something to cry about there that i missed?
did you even read/watch loveless? did it make you cry so you're asking this? share with us your thoughts ^^

gaga, I acknowledge your closed-mindedness.
I can't argue with your point, but giving new things a try never hurt anyone. (or maybe it might have at some point.)
I'm the most unemotional, cold hearted person I know (When I feel so obliged to be). I take pride in that, yet I still enjoyed Clannad for what it is.
Oh and you can't really judge it before you've watched it.

agreed with Whyt, but also understand that if she has made her mind to know that she wont watch it, then itl never happen.

I use to be called the Anime Legend on some other sites, for my massive collection of anime, and the fact that ive been watching it since 1989. I know alot of animes, and Even if i dont like the idea the anime has to offer, i will watch it anyway, I try to watch all anime that I can. Over the years, there are only a few that never make it to my collection, just to name one, Narutaru WTF WAS UP WITH THAT SHIT!!..

Whyt, I am also a brick wall when it comes to emotions, I dont ever express them often enough i suppose, and i could care less about any of it. However, my weakness is anything that has to do with a daughter and her daddy. One thing i want more then anything int he world is a baby girl, so it really hits home for me.

Aurdi, i feel for ya there, My uncle is a paster, and his family is always... well interesting, and my best friend is gay, and his ad is a paster, and i beleive over the years I have come to understand the situations you are put through with that.

im not closed minded, and actually very emotional.. but the genre i like is shonen and comedy/parody.. i watched few yt clips of clanad and i didn't like it.. no one in the world can convince that i will like it if i give it a try, i know i won't.. you're trying to convince me to watch it just cause you're so overwhelmed with it and like it a lot.. but our tastes differ.. there are some animes i won't ever want to watch just by reading their summaries and seeing couple of yt clips.. its just how it is..

i tried watching frickin ef-tales of memories cause of peoples recommendations and saying how its goood and all.. when i read the summary i knew i wouldn't like it, but people kept pestering me about it so i did - i somehow ended watching the 1s ep, tried watching the 2nd, like 2 min and then just said good bye..
same thing hapened with vampire princess miyu, but in this case i didn't even properly watch the 1st ep, i did first 5 min, after that i ran through it hoping to see a glimpse of something that i might like..

its how i work - read the summary, if i have doubts i'll try it, if i think the summary is boring, no, not gonna happen, two times i wasted my time, not gonna waste anymore.. ^^

I see your way of thinking clearer now.
I do vary quite a bit, I'll watch anything for the first series or so and evaluate on that.
Such ones as Naruto and Bleach I thought had really good first series/seasons but after that I found that they went down hill, so I vowed never to watch them again. Plus I have a few really crappy anime stuck in a folder on my computer which I couldn't actually tolerate.

Ah well, I guess we all think differently.
