second of all..
The chances of a plain crashing are like 1 in a billion. It happens very rarely, and if it does have something wrong with the plain that would cause you to have to "Crash" there are MILLIONS of saftey procedures to get you out safley. So you have nothing to worry about. Your brother is an ass whole trying to scare you. I fly every week almost all over the place and I have never had a problem. And my flights can be up to 14-20 hours in one plain at a time somtiems.
The only thing i will warn you about is when you take off, it shakes, and when you land it shakes, but there is nothing wrong with the plain, its just the ammount of g's you feel as the engines get you up to speed.
