I am really looking forward to this generation.
Not only is it the first handheld Pokemon game to feature full 3D visual effects, but it is also the first one that will allow players to ride a Pokemon.
I'm not certain on how I feel about these Mega Evolutions, and I pray these games feature a Co-op mode for the story with system link.

I wonder if I should buy this with 2DS.

I don't like the 3DS at all.

But pokemon will always be fun to play. <3

If I do pick it up, I'm most likely gonna snag Y

Why does everyone like Y so much?

People most likely find Yveltal more appealing than Xerneas.

Personally, I prefer Y mainly because of its legendary. It can fly. I've heard people call the legendary from X a Reindeer. X isn't the only game to receive criticism, btw. Y has also been hit hard by fans for Mewtwo's mega evolution :

Still, I'm getting the 6th gen Pokemon game for competitive Wi-Fi battles.

They said the X one looked better than the Y one lol.

I'm in the same boat. I haven't battled someone over Wi-Fi since Diamond. I also lost my Diamond game. That's the reason why I even stopped playing Pokemon (yes, I skipped 5th gen). After seeing the 3D world in Pokemon X/Y, I've decided that I'm going to get back into Pokemon, lol. I lost hours of hard work EV training and IV breeding in Pokemon Diamond, and now I'm going to start over from scratch, >_< Yes, I'm crazy, ha.

Why do those forms look so anime power upish?

Because they pretty much are.
They use an item to temporarily change into the mega form and revert back after the fight is over. Strategically this is taking up an item slot for the ability to reconfigure types/abilities and or stats on the fly to suit a battle.
It's a bit weird, but different. You can't really accuse them of being stale anymore.

I really didn't mind pokemon the way it used to be.

This one looks like they are doing a little too much with the series.

Each generation feels like it's getting worse and worse.

There were times where I'd EV train just for the Battle Tower and Battle Subway trainers. XD

I'm still deciding if I should get a 2DS since I don't even own a 3DS.

Well the 2DS is cheaper, and has no 3D setting, but it also doesn't look like it folds, so it could be tough to carry around, though I think it has a better battery than the original. Most people say the XL is the best version.

No matter what you get I'm gonna send you a billion swapnotes :3

Buy 3DS! Then turn 3D setting up to max. Then go dizzy. Fun.

2DS is recommended if you are on a tight budget and don't plan to use the 3D effects for any of the games you play.
Unfortunately, as Demi pointed out, the size is the only real issue with it. Which will pretty much force you to bring a pouch or bag if you plan to carry it around outdoors.

As long as it's cheap I don't really mind lol.

I hope there is at least a way to put it to sleep mode.

Both games?

One for me and the other for my sister. I spoil her too much; i even let her pick first choice :) I'm lucky really cause ive got someone to play against. Makes it more fun.

I changed my mind about getting the 3DS now.

I just don't think it would make sense for me to buy it if I only plan to play 1 game.

There are other good games for it though, like Kid Icarus, and Mario 3D land, Sticker Star is still fun if not as good as other Paper Marios.

I'm not really a fan of platformers lol.

Sticker Star is an RPG, and Kid Icarus is a shooter

NO!!! x and y was pretty good sized D: I finished it quick cause I couldn't stop playing but it still took me like 40~50 hours I think D:

There is still a ton of things to do even when you finish the game.
Wifi Battles, Batte Masion, Encountering more Legendaries, Battling your Rival once a day, etc.
I am really looking forward to the Pokemon Bank.

I think after I beat a pokemon game I'm done with it.

I don't really care too much about the extra things you can do after.
