Ayacon

Ayacon is one of several major Anime and Manga conventions that takes place in the UK and usually lasts three days. The last Ayacon took place in 2005, normally Ayacon was to take place on the odd numbered years to allow Amecon to run in the even numbered years since 2003.

Ayacon has ran five times in 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2005. For unknown reasons the Ayacon committee decided not to schedule Ayacon for 2007 but it did leave Amecon 2007 to run in its place.

The last Aycon ran on the 19th - 21st August 2005 and had an attendance of 1200 members.

The exciting news was that Ayacon is returning in 2009 after its hiatus, this was announced at Amecon 2008 closing ceremony when one Ayacon's committee members made an appearance to explain its return in 2009. Amecon will be taking a break this year but will be making a return in 2010 according to its website.

In early November 2008,Ayacon 2009 was confirmed on their website and will run between Friday 14th - Sunday 16th August 2009. The venue was the same as 2005, the University of Warwick arts centre near Conventry.

At this time there is no word on when the next Conventionw ill take place, we will keep it posted on any updates.
