Music Player added

An option to add a music file to play on your profile has been added.
To use this option, simply enter your User CP > Edit Your Details > Scroll down to the Additional Information section.
From there, enter the URL to your MP3 file and Save Changes.

Feel free to check my profile as a sample.

Is MP3 the only file that will work?

Ambient-Symphony 02-18-2012 03:05 AM

Unfortunately, yes.
MP3 files are the only ones that are supported.

SubterraMaster 02-18-2012 01:06 PM

Wow that's a pretty neat feature. This is the first time I seen this feature on a vBulletin forum.

Ambient-Symphony 02-18-2012 01:34 PM

Ah, is that so? XD
I'm glad you like it. ^^

CrescentOfLight 02-26-2012 07:24 AM

It has to be the entire url?

Yuffy 02-26-2012 08:51 AM

Oh, this is pretty cool! I'll add in my own later~ :3

Yes it does, and the URL has to end with mp3.

Oh okay.

I was wondering why mine wasn't working.

Ambient-Symphony 02-28-2012 02:55 AM

If any of you are having any issues with this, please do let me know, and I will help out as best as I can.

Yuffy 05-06-2012 01:22 AM

How the heck do I get an mp3 file into a url? ._.

CrescentOfLight 05-06-2012 06:07 PM

That's the only thing I couldn't figure out either.

Ah, my deepest apologies.
I should have pointed that part out in the OP. ^^;
There are actually quite a few sites that can take care of that part for you.

Shooting Scarz 05-07-2012 05:42 PM

I recommend going to this site, here, and opening an account to use YouTube to copy your music to their servers. It will then give you a URL that you can copy and paste in your profile.

Just make sure it ends with ".mp3".

What does the remote option do?

Ambient-Symphony 05-08-2012 04:21 AM

Shooting Scarz: Ah, yes. Kiwi6 is what I used for mine.
Thank you for adding in that bit.

CrescentOfLight 05-10-2012 04:56 AM

What is remote?

Shooting Scarz 05-11-2012 05:36 AM

CrescentOfLight: I think Remote means to copy a link to a music file from somewhere else and it will attempt to copy that music file from the link location.

Oh.

Okay.

So it's not important then?

Yuffy 05-12-2012 02:17 PM

It's still not working for me...

http://k005.kiwi6.com/hotlink/11ugwb...now_It_WIP.mp3

Is it supposed to be like that?

CrescentOfLight 05-12-2012 02:48 PM

-sigh-

I still haven't found anything I want to use.

Shooting Scarz 05-12-2012 06:56 PM

CrescentOfLight: It's not really important, no.

Yuffy: I hear music coming from your MP3 Player when I visit your profile.

Really? Then I guess it's just something to do with my computer or settings... Which I found no problem with >.<

CrescentOfLight 05-12-2012 11:06 PM

Yeah.

Xen is right.

I hear and see the music playing when I visit too.

You can see it? Where? I tried looking for it too but never found it.

Shooting Scarz 05-13-2012 07:48 AM

The music player does a streaming animation as the song plays. Kind of like a counter.

Yeah.

It's on the right side of the screen in the profile above the friends list.

It doesn't show anything there... D: D: D:

CrescentOfLight 05-17-2012 02:54 PM

Maybe it's your browser or computer?

Shooting Scarz 05-17-2012 05:38 PM

Yuffy: It could be a browser issue then. What kind are you using?

Yuffy 05-17-2012 07:52 PM

Shooting Scarz and CrescentOfLight I use Google Chrome. I tried using Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer already but I still didn't see it D:

Shooting Scarz 05-18-2012 04:17 AM

I am stumped as to why you aren't seeing it then. ='(

CrescentOfLight 05-18-2012 11:39 PM

What about Safari and Opera?

Yuffy 05-19-2012 01:33 PM

CrescentOfLight

Aren't those programs from Mac computers? :O

Aaaaand I think I should try vming Skipper about it.

CrescentOfLight 05-20-2012 05:55 AM

Um.

Safari might be.

But I think Opera can be used on anything.

CrescentOfLight 05-28-2012 01:33 AM

Why does it sometimes say buffering?

Ambient-Symphony 06-02-2012 01:06 AM

Buffering is just the loading of the file.

CrescentOfLight 06-03-2012 08:11 PM

But is it important?
