What are your inputs on Nintendo's next gen console?
Do you feel it will succeed, and what do you speculate the launch date and price will be set to?

Pikmin 3, SSB, and some other games coming out for it, I bet it'll succeed because of the famous old titles coming back~ :3

I bet it'll be like... $400 USD though... And probably coming out late 2013-late 2014

Ah, actually a few of the launch titles are due for release on Holiday 2012.
So the Wii U will be set for release late 2012. Possibly sometime in November or December.
$400 is a tad bit too high for my liking considering there are/is still some missing components/functionality, such as no Hard Drive and lack of Gamecube support. But $300-$350 sounds more reasonable. :)

In other news, Nintendo has officially announced that the launch colors will be both the Black and White ones.

I think the company was too late with this idea.

Will it play DVD's?

I'm really not a fan of it, plus it looks like they're trying too hard to break back into the big boys league. They lowered they're status with the Wii and I'm not sure they'll be able to come back with the Wii U. Just look at the controller that LD posted, it looks remarkably like an xbox 360 controller, bar the placing of the second thumb stick.

I'm just thinking it might be a little too late for them to be changing they're mind on the whole casual gaming front. Might as well stay the dominant force in handheld's. Not that they have much competition.

It does indeed look like a carbon copy of the 360 controller.
The only notable difference is the right half. Which is an inverted version of the 360 controller itself. A few 360 fans have made major complaints regarding this.
It is very likely that Nintendo developed it for the hardcore players.

There aren't many games I've seen for it that I want to get, so I'll probably wait until it gets a lot cheaper to buy it if at all ><

Yeah they'll probably run at about the average 50-60$ for new games. And I agree about the controller, looks like it'd be kind of uncomfortable...

Ah, a few of the launch titles look promising. Especially Pikmin 3. XD
Although, I have to admit that the NSMB series has gotten quite repetitive.

Certainly. They will most likely hit the 360/PS3 mark.

Haha, black is a definite pick on my list as well.
I already have the Wii in white, so getting the successor in the alternative would be sweet. :D

My bro already has Arkham City for 360, so I wasn't certain if I should pick up another copy.
Nintendo Land is pretty dang fun though despite the limitation of options.

Rayman Legends Launches February 26th In North America.
Demo will be available in the eShop this Thursday on the 13th.
Heck yeah, looking forward to this!

I don't really like this "new" wii at all.....

The system itself is epic.
Although, the OS is a tad sluggish.
Here's to hoping the Big N can patch that up in a new firmware.

Has anyone who owns the Wii U executed the big update from last month yet?
If not, then I highly recommend it.
Loading speed has improved quite a bit.

Looks like Nintendo is ditching the Basic model in favor of the Premium.

Pikmin 3 is just too cool for words right now.
There are a few disappointments, but man is this game still a blast.
So much nostalgia.

Isn't the Wii U still doing bad with sales?

Nintendo is usually a slow start these days, but once those exclusives come out. (/'A')/ hold on to your butts. I imagine Wind Waker HD will push a few units by itself.

oh yes, the games starting with pikmin 3 and going til christmas are all console sellers

I read some ratings just now and they said Wii U is still struggling in other countries.

The 3DS is actually still outselling the Wii U in other parts of the country.
This is only due to poor marketing and the lack of system seller games.
Once the big titles get released we should see a slight boost afterwards.
