Windows 95 compatible with Windows 7?

Is there any possible way to make a Windows 95 game compatible with Windows 7? I want to relive my childhood, and it would be really useful if there is a way.

What game? And yes, there usually is a workaround to get a game going. I highly suggest you check out http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Home They have a fairly large data base of games with common errors and workarounds

Also, If its a game that old and you don't want to hassle with anything http://www.gog.com/ Might have what your looking for. Most of there games are older PC titles that they create wrapers for, so the games can play on modern systems, though you might have to put down $5-10 to get the game again ^^

I have been wondering about this too.

Well you have the obvious, run in compatibility mode.

On some games I've played in the past, there has been a line of code in one of the files that wouldn't let the game run unless it was on a system below MS 2000.

Fairly easy to find if you know what to look for, but there seems to always be someone making a workaround for these sorts of things.

That's funny.

I've never come across that mode before.

Compatibility mode?

You can either right click and use troubleshoot compatibility, or go into a .exe's properties and set it to whatever version of windows that you want it to run in compatibility mode for.

Some versions of Windows 7 come with a version of Win XP installed one a virtual HDD so you can run older programs sand boxed if they aren't compatible with newer systems as well.

Here are some links to articles on the subject.
