Rzk's GFX Bynn

8 Years ago I wanted to do GFX, and when I did, I got heckled into quitting..fast forward to 2013, after countless amounts of requesting, I finally gained the motivation to take a crack at it again, joined a GFX forum that had a tutoring school in it and wala. I do mostly C4D sigs, though I am planning to expand from that.

In no manner do I consider myself a "Pro". at least I think I'm not.

W/o further or do, My work.

No particular order, The rest are in my deviantart.
I currently do not accept random requesting, what I mean by that is, I only take requests from those I owe favors to(made renders, sets for me, etc) Sorry.:(

May tweak it..

Edit: Lighting effects is useless when you have a generic graphic card.

Fixed it, also fixed the text placement and added a border..

Profile Cover for another forum I go to..

Ambient-Symphony 12-01-2013 08:29 PM

Another amazing piece you have there. Well done.
The lighting on the second one actually looks much better.
I need to get myself back on track. Haven't GFX'd anything for quite some time now.

Bynn 12-02-2013 05:16 AM

Thank You, the lighting issue was caused by the lighting effects in photoshop malfunctioning due to the fact that I have a poor graphics card(lolgenericDELL)

Kinda surprised myself on how fast I have improved..

Leelan 12-02-2013 04:09 PM

I would say you are a pro now.

Bynn 12-03-2013 04:10 AM

Oh! I didn't realize you do gfx stuff.
I really like it all though. They're pleasing and easy to look at.
Good job :)

Good job :)

It was a off and on thing, I started to feel a bit shameful asking other people to make stuff for me, so I started up again and haven't stopped like I did before.

I suppose another benefit to doing it yourself means you can have it just how you want it without trying to awkwardly explain anything. And if you don't like the result? Well, you don't have to worry about offending anyone by saying you're not pleased with it :)
Well, I'm sure some people don't mind saying it either way. But, I can't bring myself to say I don't like something that someone's given to me XD

On average, how long does it take for you to complete a piece?

It depends on how much work I want to put in, The Sabo Sig I did took me about 45 Minutes, reason be is because I don't have a fancy computer so I spend 1/3 of those 45 minutes experimenting, which is quite helpful.

That Request I filled was only 20 Mins, because I already figured out what I wanted to do.

Ludawn 12-03-2013 09:03 PM

I suppose everything takes longer if you don't have a ready idea on how you want to proceed.
Hmm, I don't want to get annoying with questions. So perhaps it's best if I just ask a few at once XD

How frequently do you play around with gfx stuff? (So, experimenting as well)
When you start a project, do you usually have a general idea of what you want to do, or is coming up with ideas difficult?
Besides the "shame" of asking others to make stuff for you, what got you interested in gfx?
Other than signatures (and awesome profile banners/headers), do you make other stuff as well?

Sorry if I'm a pain. I like looking at stuff. And you're stuff is nice to look at, so it makes me curious about it all :)

Don't worry about it, I understand.

Finding Ideas is a tad bit tricky, if the outcome didn't come out right, you may have to have something to lean back on, my style may not be suitable for some sigs, so I may have to start using something else.(Notice how it frequently changes in my sigs)

I experiment almost all the time since I started again, I usually have to observe what I can and can't do.. for example, I can't use lighting effects feature because it goes haywire when you save the work(check first page on the sabo sig) Notice how the lighting came off a bit screwy..so, I have to find alternative ways to give off proper lighting. C4D's and Gradient maps looked a bit too much for me but after numerous sigs, it gets fun, that sabo sig has 12 C4D's, cleaning, placing, changing the colors, although it's quite a bit of work, it can be really interesting in the end.

Far as what got me interested in GFX, it was foruming really, when I saw people with their fancy sigs, I wanted to give a crack at it as well, I actually started GFX back in 2007, but if you were in the GFX Communities back in those days.. the criticism you got was just downright mean, there was a lot of artist back then that were arrogant and always found a way to put me and other newcomers down, lol I always got trashed because my stuff wasn't up to par with theirs so my motivation for GFX faded away overtime despite numerous times me trying to keep myself interested.

You can say Vanesinger's work got me fired up again to take another shot, from there I went resource hunting(Renders,C4D's,etc) and met someone who wanted to help me and wala.. here I am.:blablabla:

Ludawn 12-03-2013 10:20 PM

That's awesome of you to give such detailed answers. Having a bit of info about origins and what goes into the work makes it so much more enjoyable. I feel that it creates a bigger appreciation for the artist and what they've created.

I definitely look forward to seeing more of your work.

Ah, I was experimenting adding lighting through smudging effects and got a better result than I anticipated.

Glad you like it. :smirk:

Leelan 12-18-2013 08:56 PM
