it is a cycle when the new model comes the older goes cheaper.

not only that but it stays getting cheaper, I dont think this will work with the ps3 though, because it will alwyas have the blueray running for it witch will keep it relitively up in price.

The Got PS3 at $70 which is cheaper than the prices quoted by different people here . I think there might be fluctuation in the prices of PS3 due to changes in the market prices .

For last Xmas, we got a PS2 Slim for like 100$ xD I'm hoping more new consoles come out, so the PS3 will be cheaper :XD

Next year Sony should be revealing information about their new console, so you may be in luck. :D
