Anime or Manga?

Which do you prefer and why?

Kik 09-08-2012 01:54 AM

Anime, I don't think I've ever read any anime. I just find the anime easier and more visually appealing I guess :P

CrescentOfLight 09-09-2012 05:53 PM

LOL.

I prefer reading manga.

It's much easier to follow.

Anime is more appealing but I'm always stuck on the books.

Yuffy 09-10-2012 01:50 AM

I prefer manga, you can go at it in your own pace, and they keep everything while the anime sometimes leaves things out.

Plus it's less time consuming when you can finish like 3 chapters(Each episode is 1-2 chapters) by the time you finish 1 anime episode.

Whyt Lindow 09-10-2012 09:54 AM

I prefer anime, the mix of music and stunning visuals just beats manga hands down for me. I do agree about anime missing things out though.

gaga 09-11-2012 04:04 PM

i don't know.. depends :\
before i started reading manga i would have definitely told you how i prefer anime but now it depends on the series and genre
i like funny and action filled anime but if it's something more dark then i prefer manga.
but then again, i also prefer yaoi manga over anime which is always lovey-dovey-silly

hmmm am a complicated being, i cant explain myself :(

Yeah those are some good points. I should probably try looking into getting some manga and try it out =]

If it's something like a action/martial art anime, I'd watch it over the manga only if it's more visually appealing. Like Sword Art Online, Guilty Crown, etc~

I completely agree with you on this.
If the animation is better, then I'll go for the Anime variant for that series.
And vice-verse.

CrescentOfLight 09-24-2012 05:15 PM

But reading is always fun. <3

Morgan le Faye 10-14-2012 07:12 AM

I prefer manga. It doesn't have fillers, it's much quicker and more portable. And a manga usually finishes, though many anime cut off the ending it it's too long :/
I also have trouble concentrating on watching anime.

CrescentOfLight 10-19-2012 06:39 PM

Yeah.

That's another reason I prefer the books.

Sometimes anime will cut out interesting parts found in the manga.

Hotspot 02-03-2013 02:02 AM

I prefer Anime; I'm not much of a book person.

konnichiwa 04-01-2013 07:33 PM

I prefer mangas since i love reading, also mangas give, usually, more information and doesn't have fillers so they make more sense to me...

CrescentOfLight 04-05-2013 10:49 PM

Reading is also easy rewinding.

That doesn't count.

Yandere Miku 11-29-2013 10:12 PM

i prefer manga but that not to say that i dont love anime

CrescentOfLight 11-30-2013 06:25 PM

I just understand why anime is almost always preferred over manga.

It makes me sad.

Bynn 12-01-2013 02:43 AM

Subjective.. I read Manga, but if there's an adaption, I'm going to watch it.. and depending on how accurate the anime is to the manga, I really can't decide.

I suppose most people just prefer the adaption, lol.

This, right here.
I can't tell you how many animations I've watched that were completely or halfway different from what was read in their book variants.

Ludawn 12-03-2013 02:03 AM

I don't have a particular preference on manga vs. anime.
It really depends on the series. Also, sometimes I will prefer one over the other depending on my mood haha

Lol.

I'm sometimes the same way with the mood part.

I prefer light novels of present , it has so much detail

Whyt Lindow 06-22-2023 06:25 AM

a mix of everything for me, I prefer Light Novels for detail, Manga for the visual representation and then anime that can bring various aspects to life (despite the lack of narrative detail.
