Patience is the key source to a successful board DG, as well as recruiting those that commit themselves to doing what they assign themselves to do.
If you have to request something from another person more than once, then it is more than likely that they do not wish to proceed with the request.

Unless the people are caught up in real life businesses, which as we all know is an inevitable outcome. XD
But outside of that, there really is no excuse for them at all.
They should not accept a request that they know they will not fulfill.

One key source to a successful team is choosing the right people for the right jobs.
Just like in a Role-Playing video game with Jobs and Classes.

It sounds like the people you asked weren't really devoted to doing the work.
When I first created this board around 4 years ago, I did all of the section management on my own.
Once that was out of the way, I asked my friends from different boards if they were interested in staffing the site.
From that point on we all progressed very nicely and gained a small amount of new members little by little.

I suppose it was likely laziness on their part.
Most people that find something simple to be difficult, will normally try to avoid doing it at all costs.
Which often leads to making an endless supply of excuses, lol.
But I'm not like that. When I choose to start on something, I won't stop until I finish it.

Haha, that's because I devote myself to doing a good job.
No matter how difficult the task, I will always put forth the full work and effort to succeed in that task.
